Denver Health Lights the Way This Week for Recovery from Eating Disorders

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week is Feb. 28 – March 3, 2019, and Denver Health is raising awareness by shining bright blue and green lights, the signature colors the National Eating Disorders Association, to represent hope and recovery on Pavilion A. This is the only building in Colorado with this display.

Blue and green lights shine on Pavilion A in honor of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

The goal is to raise awareness that eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness — and that they are treatable.

Denver Health’s ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders, the only eating disorder treatment center in the United States to be designated as a Center of Excellence for Medical Treatment of Severe and Extreme Eating Disorders, provides life-saving multidisciplinary care, offering hope when all other medical care has failed.

Denver Health and ACUTE is proud to join the more than 100 buildings across the country lit up in blue and green this week, including the Empire State Building in New York City. See the full list of all the buildings in the U.S. lit up in solidarity for eating disorder awareness.

ACUTE Earns Prestigious Center of Excellence Designation from Anthem
In 2018, the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders & Severe Malnutrition at Denver Health was honored by Anthem Health as a Center of Excellence for Medical Treatment of Severe and Extreme Eating Disorders. ACUTE is the first medical unit ever to achieve this designation in the field of eating disorders. It comes after a rigorous review process.
