Clinical Social Work Lead

Libby Parks, LCSW, CEDS joined ACUTE in 2019 after four years working in residential, PHP, and IOP levels of eating disorder care in New York. She obtained her Master of Social Work degree at New York University Silver School of Social Work with special focus on clinical work with individuals, groups, and families. Libby’s previous clinical experience includes inpatient psychiatric care at a Level 1 trauma hospital in Brooklyn, NY and providing support to first-time mothers and their babies affected by social and economic inequality through Denver-based Nurse-Family Partnership. Since entering the field of eating disorders, Libby has developed special interest in evaluation and treatment of co-occurring PTSD.

At ACUTE, Libby supports her patients throughout their hospitalization and ensures a safe discharge. She has built and maintains relationships with treatment centers and providers nationally and makes every effort to find a good fit for her patients’ discharge destination. Libby is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist.

ACUTE Earns Prestigious Center of Excellence Designation from Anthem
In 2018, the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders & Severe Malnutrition at Denver Health was honored by Anthem Health as a Center of Excellence for Medical Treatment of Severe and Extreme Eating Disorders. ACUTE is the first medical unit ever to achieve this designation in the field of eating disorders. It comes after a rigorous review process.
