Supporting Minors During Treatment

ACUTE collaborates with specialists throughout an adolescent’s treatment. When needed, providers will seek additional medical support and consultation from an adolescent medicine physician who specializes in eating disorders or work with Denver Health’s pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). We also employ dedicated child life specialists to help patients manage the stress and uncertainty of illness, injury, disability and hospitalization.

Discharging Adolescents

Not all treatment programs accept pediatric patients. Our experienced admissions team will provide discharge support for adolescents and their families, including assistance with transitioning to an adolescent residential eating disorder program or the appropriate next level of care.
