Sharon Harrison, BSN, RN, CDCES, has been with ERC for the past 6 years. Her interest in Type 1 Diabetes stems from her 9-year, personal experience which began when her then 4 year-old son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Her commitment to spreading awareness about TID and educating patients, families, friends, and colleagues has led Sharon to develop expertise in the field and to become an advocate for the TID community.  Sharon currently leads her team on a day to day basis as the Charge Nurse at ERC-Willow, she also serves as the diabetic expert educating and mentoring the staff across the region regarding the care and management of the diabetic patient. In addition to ERC, Sharon has worked as a school nurse as well as a home health and clinical nurse for elderly patients. She is currently in the process of obtaining her CEDRN and will begin classes in the fall for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

ACUTE Earns Prestigious Center of Excellence Designation from Anthem
In 2018, the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders & Severe Malnutrition at Denver Health was honored by Anthem Health as a Center of Excellence for Medical Treatment of Severe and Extreme Eating Disorders. ACUTE is the first medical unit ever to achieve this designation in the field of eating disorders. It comes after a rigorous review process.
