Leah Brar, MD
Leah Brar, MD, serves as a psychiatrist at the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders and Severe Malnutrition. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Baylor University and her Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Brar is board-certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and holds a Certificate of Knowledge in Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler’s Health. She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and the Colorado Psychiatric Society, where she has served in numerous leadership roles, including President and Legislative Committee Chair.
Dr. Brar has extensive experience working with patients with eating disorders, having provided psychiatric care at Eating Recovery Center from 2018 to 2024 across inpatient, residential and partial hospitalization levels. She has also contributed to research and publications on severe eating disorders, including Novel Treatments for Patients with Severe and Enduring Eating Disorders.
Additionally, she has served as core faculty and adjunct clinical faculty for multiple psychiatry residency programs and as a volunteer assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Her professional accomplishments include numerous military awards and honors from the American Psychiatric Association.
At ACUTE, Dr. Brar is motivated by the challenge of integrating psychiatric care with medical management for patients with severe eating disorders and by working alongside a highly skilled, dedicated team. She values the opportunity to contribute to individualized, high-quality care that supports patients through complex treatment journeys.
Outside of work, she enjoys mountain adventures, including hiking, skiing and rafting, as well as strolling through the Denver Botanical Gardens.
