Stephanie Evans, PsyD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at the ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders and Severe Malnutrition, where she has been part of the team since 2024. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and has spent her career working with individuals navigating a wide range of mental health and medical conditions. Prior to joining ACUTE, Dr. Evans worked in hospital and medical settings including the University of Colorado Hospital and Deer Oaks Behavioral Health Solutions, where she supported children, adults and families facing complex medical issues, malnutrition, body image distress and co-occurring mental health concerns.
Throughout her career, Dr. Evans has regularly worked with individuals affected by eating disorders and related medical complications, which further shaped her interest in the intersection of nutrition, mental health and medical systems. She brings a trauma-informed lens to her clinical work and has presented nationally on behavioral health and trauma-informed care. Her background allows her to thoughtfully support patients experiencing both psychological and physiological barriers to recovery.
Dr. Evans values ACUTE’s reputation for clinical excellence and is deeply committed to the mission of Denver Health and its service to the broader community. She finds meaning in working alongside a passionate, highly skilled team and is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a program that creates real, life-changing impact for patients and families. She is continually challenged and inspired by the evolving field of eating disorder treatment and the resilience of the individuals ACUTE serves.
Outside of work, Dr. Evans enjoys embracing everything Colorado’s mountains have to offer. In the winter, she can often be found on the bunny slopes teaching her toddler to ski, while summer months are spent hiking and camping with her family.
